Healthy Food

A balanced diet is the key to staying healthy. When choosing food, follow the Healthy Eating Pyramid guidelines. Cereals should be the main dietary source. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eat the right amount of meat, fish, eggs, milk and its substitutes. Reduce salt, fat/oil and sugar. Trim the fat out of the meat before cooking. Choose low-fat cooking methods such as steaming, stewing, boiling, scalding or cooking in a non-stick frying pan. The use of frying and frying has also been reduced. These can help us achieve a balanced diet and promote health.

  • Eat Most – Grains
  • Eat More – Vegetables and fruits
  • Eat Moderately – Meat, fish, egg and alternatives (including dry beans) and milk and alternatives
  • Eat Less – Fat/ oil, salt and sugar
  • Drink adequate amount of fluid (including water, tea, clear soup, etc) every day

Limit Certain Nutrients and Ingredients

  • Sodium (salt)
  • Added sugars
  • Saturated fats
  • Refined grains and starches
