Climate Change Prevention Infographic
By consuming fossil fuels, reducing rainforests and raising animals, humans are rapidly affecting the atmosphere and the temperature of the earth.
Global Warming and Climate Change Effects
Some gases in the Earth’s atmosphere behave a bit like glass in a greenhouse, absorbing the sun’s heat and preventing it from escaping back into space. Many of these gases are naturally occurring, but human activity is increasing the concentration of some of these gases in the atmosphere, in particular:
- Carbon dioxide (CO2)
- Methane.
- Nitrous oxide.
- Fluorinated gas
Can the Public Help Prevent Climate Change?
Many world leaders attend different conferences on climate change every year. This makes people realize the importance of climate issues, but it is inevitable that climate change will be regarded as a “high-end” problem, which can only be solved by national and regional leaders. But the reality is that the public can also help fight climate change in their daily lives. They drive less and use less air conditioning, all of which help mitigate global warming. Here are some suggestions on how we can help prevent global warming:
- Change lightbulbs to LEDs
- Save water
- Use cold water for laundry
- Reuse and recycle
- Make better insulation to save electricity
- Use less paper, save wood
- Plant tree in the garden
- Eat less meat
- Reduce food waste
- Reduce bottle water usage
- Start walking, drive less and take more public transportation
- Turn off your engine
- Ride a bike or start carpool
