PDF/A is an ISO-standardized version of the Portable Document Format (PDF). It is reproducible in order to be 100% self contained. All the information needed to display the document will be stored, similar to an embedded file, including text, graphics, fonts and colors.
To ensure that the file can be stored for a long time, we may need to check if the PDF is in the PDF/A standard. VP Online PDF Tool is an convenient and useful tool for you to check your work for free. We will show you how it works in this article.
How to check whether a PDF is in PDF/A Standard
In VP Online, click Explore, them select PDF Editor.
We can find the PDF tool by 2 ways:
- Click the Explore All PDF Tools button on top right
- Scroll down the page to find the tool
Take (1) as example.
We will then enter the page of online PDF tools. Click PDF Editing Tools.
The page will then move to that part automatically.
Click PDF/A Validator Tool.
After that, upload the PDF to the page.
Different validation profile are provided for us to check our work.
If we do not sure what you should choose, we can then choose Auto-Detection.
By the result, we can know that whether the PDF is in PDF/A Standard or not.
If your PDF is not in PDF/A Standard, we can click the Convert to PDF/A-1B button below to start conversion.
