Every year on October 31, people come together to celebrate Halloween. Halloween is also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows Eve, or All Hallows Eve. Although it began as a day with religious overtones, it has now evolved into a day of events or fun.
Origin of Halloween
There are different theories about the origin of Halloween, which is dated November 1. However, it is usually celebrated on October 31, the eve of All Saints’ Day. As a day to celebrate the Celtic harvest, the last day of October represents the end of summer and the beginning of winter. It is also considered the day of death, so people wear masks on this day to scare the ghosts. This is the origin of the activities we now have in Halloween.
Nowadays, children will dressed in characters or symbols related to Halloween, such as ghost, witches, and even a pumpkin! They can visit different houses and ask for candies by ” Trick or Treat”, just as the tradition of giving sweets to the deceased, and the recipient promises to “pray for the deceased” in return.

Before our children start their activities, they dress up and make themselves look pretty. Since ghosts traditionally appear on this day, children usually dress up as ghosts, witches or devils, and one common custom is to cover two holes in white paper for eyes. As time went on, this custom was no longer limited to symbols associated with Halloween; children could also play actors, singers, politicians, police officers and superheroes. By the children’s costumes, we can also know what is popular among them now.
For adults, they can have fun by giving candy to kids. In addition, this is a big deal for business. People will buy different candies and prepare snacks for their kids, thus increasing the consumption of the day.

How Did Trick-or-Treat Became A Halloween Custom?
Halloween may have originated from Samhain, a Celtic holiday held from October 31 to November 1 to mark the beginning of winter in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man, and trick-or-treating may have come from the idea of supernatural beings or belief in the dead. It was believed that spirits wandered the earth at this time of year and needed to be appeased.
